Meet The Band

The En Masse Band is one of the many things that sets aside En Masse from other choirs. The band is made up of full time professional musicians who have experience playing for some of the world’s biggest artists. This live band adds a sound and feeling to En Masse shows like no other choir provides.

Chris Wood - Bassist

Chris has been playing bass since the tender age of 12. First jamming with his dad’s jazz funk band at the age of 14 and even touring Europe with named artists at 16.

A graduate of The Musician’s Institute, his playing has featured on TV adverts, Radio Jingles, Elevator Music, and hit recordings ever since and he has played on stages all over the world, from Bognor to Hong Kong.

A lifelong funk and disco fan, this seasoned session musician and music teacher has worked with 70’s disco legends Shirley Jones and Sister Sledge, 80’s Icon Yazz, platinum selling producer Mark ‘Artful Dodger’ Hill and 90’s groups The Spice Girls and All Saints.

He is currently first-call bassist for US soul artist Archie Bell and Glenn Jones as well as maintaining a career as the in house bassist for Lovetown Music, based in Bath, Igloo Studios in Hampshire and is a director of tuition company Igloo Music in Portsmouth.

He also composes music for film and TV, working for companies in the UK and Europe, as well as the USA.

Konnor Walsh - Drummer

Konnor turned professional at the age of 19 after working in a studio with bassist “Chris”. At the studio he made contacts with many artists in the industry include, Mark ‘Artful Dodger’ Hill. Working in this environment helped him gain his reputation as a session drummer.

As his career grew over the coming years, Konnor grew his contacts in the industry and began touring Europe in his early 20’s with the band ‘Acres’.

Since then, he has a gained a reputation as a session drummer and has worked with many different artists both live and on TV as well as appearing in large blockbuster films.

In 2020 Konnor started working with Stock Aitken Waterman artist Bucks Fizz which then led him to be the drummer for the house band of the show “That Was Then, This Is Now”, which featured such artists as Chesney Hawkes, Toyah, Kim Wilde and Owen Paul.
